PAFAM's Work

This covers three broad areas

Legal
The patient’s opinion is being listened to increasingly because it is the patient who can speak from experience. It is Pafam’s aim to provide a patient voice for anthroposophic medicine and therapies to affirm its effectiveness and encourage its acceptance medically. As with most complementary therapies, anthroposophic medicine is still seeking a fully recognised place in European medicines legislation.

Social
The whole human being - body, soul and spirit - is addressed in the anthroposophic approach to healing. Because of this social relationships are important in the healing process. Pafam therefore has a role to play in supporting people using Anthroposopic Medicine in isolation. Regional groups are being formed where experiences of Anthroposophic Medicine can be shared, and where members can start initiatives to support Pafam's aims.

Enabling
Pafam wants to be active in practical ways to further its aims. As well as raising funds, publicity is an important aspect of raising awareness of, and educating the public in the anthroposophic approach to medicine. There is therefore a phone line for queries and to supply information on Anthroposophic Medicine availability Through the regional groups talks and displays are being organised in different areas.
